Zunica 1880 a Villa Corallo

The historic Zunica 1880 – and the numbers don’t lie – is reborn within Villa Corallo, an imposing resort and landed estate. Guest rooms are in the main villa, while the restaurant occupies what was once the farm equipment building. Two vegetable gardens, crop cultivation, raising of calves and pigs, plus a new garden and pool, primarily used for weddings and events. The cuisine of Gianni Dezio, an Abruzzo native from Atri and student of Niko Romito, already operates at a high level through two tasting menus – at the chef’s discretion – or à la carte. His stylistic signature is a judicious, targeted use of a few ingredients, many of them estate‑produced, each with its own value and precise effect. The result: dishes that are aesthetically refined – now essential at this level – but above all designed to deliver flavor and pleasure, drawing inspiration from both local traditions and the chef’s imagination. Overseeing it all is the discreet, understated presence of owner Daniele, a charismatic figure in Abruzzo dining.
