Sören Herzig's restaurant is located in the 15th district, on the ground floor of the historical Dorotheum-Fünfhaus (previously a pawnshop). In this listed building dating back to the 1920s, the dining space was once an auction hall and has a minimalist, industrial-style atmosphere that is reminiscent of a New York gallery – relaxed and distinctively stylish. Gorgeous hardwood flooring, comfortable designer chairs and artwork by the likes of Peter Jellitsch and Clemens Wolf underscore the tastefully chic interior. The spectacular rooftop terrace affords breathtaking views, making it an ideal spot for an aperitif or a nightcap. As for the food, the modern dishes are made from the best ingredients and without gimmickry, eg "Tristan lobster [tempura], pumpkin, pear, koji rice" "aubergine [barigoule], beluga lentil, almond, cinnamon blossom". The set menu comes in a large or smaller format and can also be made vegetarian by prior arrangement. The adept service and the sommelier's insightful wine recommendations are the icing on the cake.
