The Barn

This rustic restored barn is the more informal dining option at the Moor Hall country house hotel, and shares the same ethos as its revered big sister, with much of the seasonal produce coming from their walled garden and grounds – which are well worth exploring. The airy dining room comes with exposed beams and an open kitchen, while the hedge-enclosed terrace by the lake is magical on a sunny day. The cooking is modern and imaginative, with understated elegance and well-judged combinations of punchy flavours – usually started off with a snack of home-cured salami.
